Founder and CTO of robotics startup SenserBot Pte Ltd, a spinoff of ASTAR's technologies,previously Principal Investigator / Researcher from ASTAR in wireless communications.Highly cited (top 2%) researcher with more than 11k citations from more than 100 publications in international conferences and journals and more than 10 international patents. Winner of prestigious international awards: Best Paper Award of IEEE Signal Processing Society,IEEE Marconi Prize Paper Award, etc. He has developed key technologies and led teams in algorithmic development for autonomous robot-assisted scanning for logistics and library verticals, industrial WiFi projects, and in innovative work for energy harvesting and wireless power to support wireless communications.
Dr Ho received the B.Eng.(First-class Honors, Minor in Business Admin.) and M.Eng degrees from the Department of Electrical Engineering, National University of Singapore in 1999 and 2001, respectively. He received his PhD degree at the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands,in 2007.Concurrently during his PhD study, he conducted research work in Philips Research.

We share on the personal lessons learnt on how to develop deep tech that matters. To whom the deep tech matters?
Our views are shaped by case studies drawn from experiences in a research institute and a startup company. First, we look at the evolution of wireless communications research and how we bring new ideas on energy harvesting to wireless communications. Then we switch to the evolution of robotics. We then focus on how we work with end users to pilot robot projects, and eventually deploy the solution commercially. We then star-gaze on future opportunities that may make a difference.
